Juliet Bernard of The Knitter urges you to celebrate St Mungo’s Woolly Hat Day tomorrow and help raise funds for a great cause!

St Mungo's Woolly Hat Day

My father introduced me to a very special charity many years ago – St Mungos. You may not have heard of it but the work of the charity does with homeless people is absolutely vital. Established in 1969 they now run over 100 projects mainly in the south of England, and help thousands of homeless people each year.

This year on October 26th, St Mungos is calling on all knitters to take part in Woolly Hat Day. They need 5,678 orange hats for the campaign. This number represents the number of people who slept rough on the streets of London last year – a whopping 43% increase on the previous year. Please try and knit a hat for this amazing cause. You can send your finished hats to Camden Passage’s fabulous knitting shop, Loop.

You can support St Mungo's Woolly Hat Day all year round
