Knit for Refuge campaign update

Refuge, our charity of the year, would like to thank everyone who has already contributed to our Bears & Squares campaign.

Refuge teddies

More than 100 teddies have been received so far, and they have made their way to Refuge’s ‘safe houses’ and into the arms of the children staying there after fleeing domestic violence.

Readers have also been sending in their finished blankets, and our fund-raising is going well, too, with more than £2,000 of our £10,000 goal raised!

We really appreciate all your efforts, but if you haven’t had a chance to get involved yet, don’t worry. There’s still time to show you care by knitting a bear.

If you want to take part, get the teddy pattern, plus our brand-new pattern e-book with lots more inspiration for your blanket squares.

If you or someone you know needs support, please visit www.refuge.org.uk for more information. Refuge and Women’s Aid run a UK-wide, 24-hour free helpline for women affected by domestic violence on 0808 2000 247.
