Autumn always seems like the perfect time to learn something new or re-awaken existing skills, especially if it involves some colourful yarn and a challenging technique.
A new programme of creative workshops from Colinette Yarns offers the perfect excuse to head into rural Mid-Wales, just as the landscape turns golden and red. The courses take place at the Colinette mill on the banks of River Banwy at Llanfair Caereinion, beginning on Saturday 15 September with Gwen Davies’ Knitted and Felted Bags and Embellishments workshop.
You’ll get to make and take home an attractive bag in the space of a day!
Other workshops in the series are as follows:
Felted hats with Michelle Dibdin on Saturday 22 September;
Knitted accessories with Sally McCollin on Saturday 20 October, offering the chance to explore short row shaping, twisted stitches and knitting in the round;
Big needle knitting with Linda Parkhouse on Saturday 27 October;
Modular strips and stripes with Colinette Sansbury on Saturday 03 November;
Christmas felting fun with Michelle Dibdin on Saturday 17 November 17.
Each workshop costs £65, with the cost including a lunch sourced from local artisan producers in the region.
You’ll be able to complete and take away a small project during the class, together with a goody bag of 250gm mixed yarns, course notes and a Colinette canvas bag to store everything in. There’ll also be time to browse around the mill shop and drool over the beautiful yarns. Sounds like heaven to us!
