If you’re online reading this, then chances are you look at knitting patterns on the web too. There are literally tens of thousands of designs on the internet. But where to start?
We decided to give you a little help in finding the best of the best. We'll be looking at a new pattern every Friday lunchtime. Just in time for you to cast on for the weekend.
OK, here goes!
For our first ever Fabulous Pattern Friday, we’d like to introduce you to a design which was released just one week ago, on a Friday, no less.
The Beekeeper’s Quilt by tinyowlknits is a project which is designed to take a whole year to complete!
Stephanie Dosen, the creative genius behind tinyowlknits, dreamt up the idea to create a sock yarn blanket, without the headache of lining it afterwards.
The Beekeeper’s Quilt is made up of hundreds of tiny honeycombs (hence the name), each one using less than 20m of 4ply yarn to make. Perfect for using up all those scrappy bits in your stash!
Each honeycomb is stuffed separately, making a lovely, squishy, comfortable throw that is sure to become a family heirloom.
The pattern is available via Ravelry.com, or Stephanie’s TinyOwl'sMagicAttic Etsy store, priced at $5.50 (about £3.44). All these lovely images were taken by Stephanie and have been reproduced here with her kind permission.
