Louisa Harding’s design for this boat-necked top with delicate stripes has a wealth of subtle details that make it look special, and will be enjoyable to knit, too.
The cabled edgings are worked as long strips, which are then turned by 90 degrees so that the left edge becomes the top of your work; the main body is then knitted on to this.
You can get hold of this pattern by buying a digital version of The Knitter Issue 34.
The wide neck is finished with a ribbed pattern and edged with garter stitch in a contrasting shade. Louisa has designed her top in her own Jasmine yarn, which has subtle silver flecks running through it to add a touch of sparkle, ideal for catching the light on a beach shortly after dawn!
This lovely design appears in Athena, a collection of 15 feminine designs by Louisa Harding.
