Sharon from Great British Yarns has some news about new additions to her Kate Davies' range:

"We have some new Kate Davies patterns, including the lovely Sixareen Kep, a traditional seafarers kep with a lined colourwork brim, and this Sixareen Cape - a circular Fair Isle wrap to ward off chill breezes; both at at £3.25. 

We know knitters are huge dog-lovers, judging by the comments on our website and Facebook pages in response to any canine-related stories! And Juliet is no exception, as she's recently welcomed a new addition to the family...

"Have I bored you rigid about my new baby yet? It’s not a new yarn or even a set of diamond-encrusted needles but it is a puppy. We decided to give our Schnauzer, Buster, a friend and we looked long and hard for a rescue dog; having a cat seemed to be a major obstacle though, so we opted for a puppy.

You know that when Kate Davies puts a new pattern up it is going to be fantastic and Rams and Yowes is no exception. Kate has taken the elements she used in her Sheep Heid hat and turned them into a blanket using Jamieson & Smith yarn.

Restricting myself to stashbusting for the whole of last year seems to have had a lasting effect on me, so although I’m now back to buying yarn again, I knew this project offered the perfect opportunity for some stash diving.

I had enough Rowan Scottish Tweed left to do this project so, although the colours weren’t quite as Kate’s original, I got stuck in. Sure there would be blue and orange sheep but I think they look quite sweet.

Every now and again a pattern comes along that is a roaring hit with us knitters. It’s so hard to predict just what will capture the Zeitgeist but Kate Davies seems to have an unerring talent for presenting us with patterns we just want to knit and knit.

Peerie Flooers (even the name is entrancing!) is a fantastic beanie hat decorated with dancing flowers that come together in a wonderful geometric design at the crown. The colourway Kate has chosen is beautifully balanced.
